AWTT in Maine
During the fall of 2012, AWTT launched a new program to run professional development workshops for Maine teachers, training them to use the portraits, biographies, resources and website in their classrooms to engage and motivate students and to create bridges between the school and the community. To date, AWTT has run workshops in Belfast, Maine at Waterfall Arts and at Ellsworth High School. read more...
AWTT in Louisville
Since 2004, when St. Francis High School hosted a an exhibit of AWTT portraits, programming has been expanding in Jefferson County. To date, there have been six significant exhibits, including one visited by Michele Obama at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage. Local educator, Michele Hemenway, has brought AWTT programming into elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and colleges. read more...
