| June 2010 & August 2010 | Many of the portraits will be featured at the National Convention of Veterans for Peace which will be held in Portland, Maine at the Holiday Inn by the Sea on August 26 - 29, 2010. VFP was founded in Maine 25 years ago & this national convention is being held in Maine to honor the founding. Several portrait subjects will be speaking or performing at the convention: Terry Tempest Williams, Charlie Clements, Chris Hedges, Pat Humphries, Sandy 0.

A fundraiser for the convention will be held in Portland on June 12th at the Williston West Church at 32 Thomas St. at 7pm. The event will feature the Voices for Peace Chorus singing songs in relation to many of the portraits. For information call 207-348-2511.

| April 24, 2010 | The Hope Festival will be held at the University of Maine at Orono on April 24th. The keynote speaker will be Betty Burkes ( a portrait in this series). The musical duo emma's revolution --- Pat Humphries & Sandy O ( also portraits in the series) --- will perform.
There will be a show of the portraits to accompany the Festival. |

| March 2010 | Rob will speaking & doing a workshop at the annual conference of the American Montessori Society in Boston on March 25-26. |

| March 2010 -- March 2011 | Ten portraits will be on display at Miami University in Miami, Ohio for the entire year.
They will be in McGuffey Hall in the School of Education, Health and Society.

| January 6-7, 2010 | Rob will visit Vianlhaven High School on Vinalhaven Island off the coast of Maine for these two days with some portraits & will host two days of discussions & workshops about ethics and service. |

16 to 20 portraits will be at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, from August 20 through September 30. Rob will be in residence there for the week of September 21. There will be a public reception for the portraits on Thursday, September 24th. Tilly Woodward, whose portrait is in the collection will be there, too.

| June 2009 | 12 portraits --- having primarily to do with environmental and sustainability issues like climate change, mountaintop removal, and environmental justice --- will be at the Belfast Free Library in Belfast, Maine for the month of June 2009.
Rob will be there to speak on Monday, June 8, at 6:30 pm. |

| October - December 2008 | The Lousiville Visual Art Association will host a show of the Americans Who Tell the Truth portraits in two phases --- with two separate groups of portraits. The first from October through the middle of November, the second till the end of December.
Rob will speak at LVAA on Friday, October 24 at 5 pm. We expect Teri Blanton, one of Kentucky's great activists against Mountaintop Removal ( and a new portrait!), to be there and speak also.

| September 2008 | Twenty portraits will be displayed at the Traffic Zone Center for Visual Art at 250 3rd. Ave North in Minneapolis from September 1 to the 30th. Rob will be in Minneapolis to talk in various schools from Sept. 15th to the 19th. Among the portraits being displayed will be Coleen Rowley's, the former FBI agent who blew the whistle about FBI incompetence prior to 9/11 in following leads.

| June - July 2005 | New York City. Courtesy of Community Works, Con Edison and the Harlem Arts Alliance, 36 Truth Teller portraits are on exhibit in New York, 16 at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and 20 at the Columbia University's Low Library. An opening reception on June 7 drew about 350 people to honor Truth Tellers Frank Serpico and Judy Wicks and descendants of Paul Robeson, Malcolm X and Ossie Davis. On June 30, Rob Shetterly will participate in a dialogue, "My Truth, Your Truth, the Truth," joined by prominent New York clergy of all faiths. | April 2005 | Worcester, Massachusetts: Twelve of Rob Shetterly's portraits will hang at Clark University's Traina Center for the Arts from April 10-15 in conjunction with a Special Event - The Open Spaces of Democracy organized around the book of the same title by Terry Tempest Williams. Rob Shetterly will speak on his own at 4 pm on the 10th. At 4 pm on the 11th, there will be a public conversation with him and Terry Tempest Williams. Ms. Williams will speak at 7:30 on the 11th. |

| March 2005 | Louisville, Kentucky: Six of Rob Shetterly's portraits are hanging at the St. Francis School in Louisville from March 22-30. Michelle Hemenway of the Golden Tree School organized the collaboration between the two schools. Rob will speak to students at both schools. In addition, he will participate in a public forum on Monday night organized by the jazz musician and activist Henry Pickens. |

| March - April 2005 | Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. A large selection of the Truth Teller portraits are hanging in the Miller Art Museum from March 19 through April 26, 2005. Robert Shetterly inaugurated the event with a talk at the Museum on Saturday March 19. On Sunday he talked at the Unitarian Church in Sister Bay, Wisconsin. | February 3-28, 2005 | Portland, Maine: 10 portraits of African Americans from the Americans Who Tell the Truth series were hung in Portland City Hall to commemorate Black History Month. Robert Shetterly opened the show with a talk to a packed house on February 3. |

| January - March 2005 | Meadville, Pennsylvania. About thirty of the Truth Teller portraits were displayed at a gallery at Allegheny College from January 25 through March 2, 2005. Robert spoke to a gathering of students, faculty, trustees, and community members on January 24. |

| January 13, 2005 | Milo, Maine. Robert spoke to student groups at Penquis Valley High School about American History and the ethics of democracy. Following his visit he was asked by one of the students why he bothered to make the trip to the rural town of Milo. | January 10, 2005 | Bar Harbor, Maine. Robert Shetterly spent the day speaking to students from the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 8th grades at the Connors Emerson School about American History and the ethics of democracy. |

| October - November 2004 | Lewiston, Maine. Eighteen of the Truth Teller portraits were shown in the Bates College chapel from October to mid-December 2004. On November 8, Rob met with students and gave a gallery talk. |

| October - November 2004 | St. Paul, Minnesota. Most of the Truth Teller collection were exhibited in a newly renovated gallery at Concordia University from about October 15 through the month of November. The show energized Concordia's campus and prompted President, Robert Holst to comment that the "paintings...brought the liberal arts part of Concordia to a higher level." |

| October 2004 | Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. During the week of October 5, twenty of the Truth Teller portraits hung for two days at the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School where Rob spoke to the student body as a whole and to a smaller group of students. During the same visit to Martha's Vineyard, Rob spoke in the evening to community group. |

| September 2004 | Jacksonville, Florida. Thirty five of the Truth Teller portraits hung at the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida during most of the month of September. Hurricanes forced cancellation of Rob Shetterly's visit to Jacksonville to meet with Bolles students. The visit may be rescheduled at some time in the future.

| June 26, 2004 | Brooklin, Maine. About ten of the Truth Teller portraits hung in the arts tent of the Flye Point Music and Arts Festival. Artist Rob Shetterly and some of his volunteers were on hand to discuss the projet and to manage brisk sales of Truth Tellers note cards. As usual, the Truth Tellers generated enthusiastic, positive response and new friends of the project, some of whom plan to advocate to bringing the travelling exhibit to their communities. |

| June 21, 2004 | Farmington, Maine. Rob showed slides of the Truth Teller portraits and discussed the project in an evening presentation for several hundred members of the entering Freshman class at the University of Maine at Farmington. Student response was stimulating and rewarding. |

| June 2004 | Orono, Maine. A selection of the Truth Tellers portraits were on exhibit as a back drop for the University of Maine's annual Peace Conference, June 17-20, 2004 where they generated enthusiastic and rewarding response. |

On April 17, Rob Shetterly participated in the HOPE (Help Organize Peace Earthwide) Festival, on hand with a selection of his Truth Teller portraits and slides of the entire collection. Rob's audience was enthusiastic and responsive, and the sale of Truth Tellers note cards was brisk. |

| April 2004 | Vinalhaven, Maine. April 12-13, Rob Shetterly shared the collection in illustrated lecture and discussion with enthuiastic and responsive gatherings of students and community members in presentations in schools and a community meeting place. |

| March 2004 | Augusta, Maine. During the month of March, in the context of Maine state government's celebration of Women's History Month, nineteen of Rob Shetterly's portraits of Truth Teller women plus those of Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, Henry David Thoreau and Chief Joseph hung in various galleries and offices of the State House. Legislators and visitors to the State House were enthusiastic in their response and the exhibit generated rewarding coverage by TV and print media. |

| February 2004 | Brooksville, Maine. Over the course of three days, Rob Shetterly shared the Truth Teller collection in discussion with enthusiastic students at Brooksville Elementary School in grades 4 - 8. One group of students did self-portraits inscribed with words that described what they perceived to be the things most important to them. Subsequently, Rob arranged with the Brooksville Public Library to put the students's self-portraits on display with a selection of Rob's Truth Teller paintings. |

| January 2004 | Blue Hill, Maine. On January 18 at the Liberty School, Rob shared the Truth Tellers collection in discussion with enthusiastic students and staff. |

| January 2004 | Bar Harbor, Maine. About a dozen Truth Teller portraits were on display at Reel Pizza Cinerama during January and most of February. On the evening of January 18, in commemoration of Martin Luther King Day, Rob Shetterly made an illustrated presentation to a full house. Rob and his Truth Tellers were very well received. |

| December 2003 | Rob Shetterly delivered an illustrated presentation on "Americans Who Tell The Truth" on December 18, 2003 (Thursday), 7pm to an enthusiastic audience at the Camden (Maine) Public Library. Sale of Truth Tellers note cards was brisk indeed. |

| September - November 2003 | Rob has taken the portraits and slides of the portraits into many schools, grade schools and high schools, and found that they are an excellent vehicle to talk about ethics, history, politics, and what makes a democracy work. He also spoke about them in a Peace Studies class at the University of Maine at Orono.
In many of the schools the teachers asked the students to research the subjects of the portraits further and write reports on them. In others, students were encouraged to find other truth tellers and report on them.
In most cases students are surprised to learn that the rights they enjoy as Americans had to be won through courage and persistence against enormous resistance. |

| February - July 2003 | Rob Shetterly first shared his remarkable Truth Teller portraits with the public in February 2003 in an exhibit at Frankie's in Ellsworth, Maine. Subsequently, as the collection grew, the portraits hung in the Blue Hill (Maine) Public Library in May 2003 and in the Ellsworth (Maine) Public Library in June 2003. During the same period, Rob made presentations on the project for Schoodic Arts in Winter Harbor, Maine (April 2003); at the Bay School in Blue Hill, Maine (May 2003); and at George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill (July 2003). |
