Will Children Save the Environment?

Sunday, June 3 at 7 p.m.

Bagaduce Music Lending Library Performance Hall

49 South Street, Blue Hill

Rob Shetterly of Americans Who Tell the Truth will moderate a talk by Kelsey Juliana, the lead plaintiff of the case "Our Children's Trust" lawsuit (Juliana vs. US). The case brought by more than 20 children asserts that their constitutional rights are being violated by the government's disregard of climate science. This intergenerational event will include music by Shawn Mercer and poetry by GSA students.

In her decision that the children have standing and that the case could forward, U.S. District Court Judge Ann Aiken declared, "Exercising my 'reasoned judgment,' i have no doubt that the right to a climate system capable of sustaining human life is fundamental to a free and ordered society.
