"[We] invite you to join the 15th Anniversary Gala: Rekindling Hope, Lighting New Legacies on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm at the Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, DC.
The 15th Anniversary Gala will bring together 200 guests to honor the past, present, and future of Legacies of War. Guests will include individuals from corporate, government, and non-profit fields, as well as friends of Laos, including high-profile philanthropists, diplomats, journalists, and humanitarians. The festive evening will include a welcome reception, an art gallery, special speakers, a Lao dinner, cultural performances, an auction, and an award ceremony. We will also honor individuals and organizations that have lit the life-saving path of progress for the people of Laos.
We will celebrate key champions, including Senator Patrick Leahy, the Mines Advisory Group, and members of the California Advocates for Laotian History and Cultural Studies. We will recognize the contributions of Founding Director Channapha Khamvongsa. [Note: The AWTT portrait unveiling will take place during this portion of the program. Khamvongsa will also introduce her successor at that time.] We will renew our collective commitment and inspire a new generation to carry forth the torch for a safer Laos.
