Stories of Courage & Songs of Hope: A Benefit for Thanks But No Tank

Benefit Concert at the UU Church

On Saturday, June 1, Bangor-area choir "Voices For Peace," Americans Who Tell the Truth (AWTT) artist Robert Shetterly, and composer Mary Anne Driscoll will present a concert titled "Stories of Courage & Songs of Hope: A Celebration of Progress towards a Sustainable Planet featuring Music, Stories and Paintings" at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 37 Miller St., Belfast.

This unique event combines the vocal talents of the choir, choral arrangements and solo performances by Driscoll, and several of the AWTT portraits, which Shetterly will present.

The program begins at 7 p.m., with a suggested admission of $15.

Proceeds benefit Thanks But No Tank (TBNT), the citizen group that successfully battled a massive LPG tank recently proposed for the Searsport shore and has debts to retire.

TBNT will also be selling raffle tickets (prizes include a Coastal Maine weekend getaway with dinner for two at the Captain A.V. Nickels Inn, as well as many other gift certificates and handcrafted items), food and drinks.
