The Ida B. Wells website, "created and maintained" by her relatives, has information about the Ida B. Wells Foundation, the Ida B. Wells Scholarship for students at Wells´ alma mater, Rust College in Holly Springs Mississippi, and the Ida B. Wells-Barnett Museum, also in Holly Springs.

The website describes the Foundation in this way:

Established in 1988 in Chicago, Illinois by five of her grandchildren, the Ida B. Wells Memorial Foundation seeks to preserve and promote Wells´legacy of dedication to the principles of superior journalism, social justice, education, equality and integrity. The need to support and encourage such dedication is as strong today as it was in her lifetime. Ida B. Wells´wisdom, tenacity, and commitment serve as an example to inspire and rikindle the spirit of activism needed to address current social, political, and economic inequalities.
