"What´s in a Name" is a lesson plan / educational tool for high school students on the four "lives" of Malcolm X.

Born Malcolm Little, Malcolm X changed his name three times: when in his teens and pursuing a criminal career, he was known as "Detroit Red"; Malcolm X when he discovered Elijah Muhammad while imprisoned and became a Black Muslim; El Hajj Malik el Shabazz when he split with Elijah Muhammad, made a pilgrimage to Mecca, and started his own movement. This educational tool focuses on the name changes as they related to his changing consciousness.
